QuickDesign is FISHER/UNITECH's own customized system that delivers mechanical design automation through Knowledge-Based Engineering.
Eliminate up to 90% of the design cycle saving money and accelerating new concept development
What is Design Automation via KBE? Implementation of a simple 2D interface that captures design attributes and intent ultimately automating the design, simulation and estimating of a product to be manufactured. Knowledge Based Engineering applies design rules to the system, advancing the level of automation.
QuickDesign is architected to deliver scalable KBE solutions so that it may be applied to a range of applications. Very complex machine design applications, such as body structures, or more simple, parametric dependent applications can both be addressed economically with the software. QuickDesign automates repeatable design tasks, and is ideal for companies whose products are variants of a general design theme or model.
The Unique QuickDesign Process THe first step in developing a QuickDesign application is to capture a company's design rules and engineering expertise, which provide a basic foundation for the program. We then apply design logic to the rules resulting in a complex Knowledge Based Engineering database which is maintained independently by QuickDesign.
Parametric, feature-based Smart Models are created and linked to the KBE database by the QuickDesign Resource Manager, resulting in an application ready for user input. The end result is a simple-to-use 2D interface coupled with a solid modeling application that provides endless product combinations that do not have to be designed from scratch.
Unique Features of QuickDesign: QuickDesign utilizes the Advanced Engineering Environment (AEE) which provides:
- Client/Server Architecture for ease of use and implementation
- Rules are stored independently of CAD models and may be easily modified by end users and administrators with our exclusive interface
- Each application consists of core QuickDesign software functionality along with customized models and KBE databases
- CAE processes may be included within automation routines
- Scalable so that simple through complex applications may be addressed.
For the end user, QuickDesign requires no programming or knowledge of CAD or CAE software. Product specifications are simply entered into a dialog box using a Microsoft Windows or web-browser based client.
From this point, QuickDesign will generate 2-D Drawings, 3D parametric models, CAE reports, BOM reports and quotations.
Productivity Gains with QuickDesign:
- Product/Part and Assembly Re-Use
- Interation with Simple Interface
- Ability to Incorporate Recursive Design
- Govern Design Process with Rules
- Automate Geometry Creation Process
- Systems Engineering Automation
