Course Description: The goal of SolidWorks Workgroup PDM CAD Editor is to teach you how to use the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM software to manage design documents. A prerequisite to using SolidWorks Workgroup PDM software is an understanding of the file structure and file referencing used by SolidWorks.
The focus of this course is on the fundamental skills and concepts central to the successful use of SolidWorks Workgroup PDM. You should view the training course manual as a supplement to, not a replacement for, the system documentation and on-line help. Once you have developed a good foundation in basic skills, you can refer to the on-line help for information on less frequently used command options.
The intended audience for this course is SolidWorks users.
There are many people who use SolidWorks Workgroup PDM without SolidWorks through the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Add-In to SolidWorks Explorer and the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Viewer. They should take the separate course SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Contributor with SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Viewer. While the SolidWorks Explorer interface looks different from the interface used within SolidWorks, the same principles apply so that if you know either one, using the other should be straightforward.
