FISHER/UNITECH has been approved as a WIA (Workforce Investment Act) provider in five states. We have put together four SolidWorks software and training options that are available to displaced workers, paid for through state-funded grants. Unemployed designers and engineers, as well as other qualified candidates, can take advantage of one or more of these offerings to increase skill sets and marketability.

What is the Workforce Investment Act?
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) provides increased flexibility for state and local officials to establish broad-based labor market systems using federal job training funds for adults, dislocated workers and youth. WIA's goal is to provide workforce development services to employers and workers through a universally accessible, information-driven, one-stop career center system.

How do I apply for grant funding under the Workforce Investment Act?

Visit the local CareerOneStop office nearest you to begin the application process. It can help expedite the process if you have already investigated our options and selected the software/training path you'd like to take. Let the service center know you would like to work with FISHER/UNITECH.

What WIA-approved software and training is available from FISHER/UNITECH?
We have been approved to provide two training passes and two SolidWorks software and training bundles focused on improving your skill set in the area of 3D mechanical design employing SolidWorks software. Please choose from one of the following options:

WIA Approved Training Passes

• 3DU Pass Basic - Our Education Pass Basic includes one (1) in-classroom and one (1) online course to be taken within a twelve (12) month period for only $1,795 per student. To view specific courses to choose from, please click here.

• 3DU Pass Premium - For $3,995, you may take up to 17 courses (based on availability) within a 12-month period. To view which courses are included, please click here.

WIA Approved Software & Training Bundles

• SolidWorks Applied Technology-Student (SWAT-S) – This bundle includes one 3DU Education Pass Premium , one 12-month license of SolidWorks Student Edition 2010-11 Software, and one CSWA Exam.
  Price: $4,495.00

• Software ceases to function 12 months after activation
• Subscription support service (technical support, live support) is not included
• License may not be upgraded
• Email support is available for installation and activation
• Registration requires Internet access
